چکیده

The recent emergence of bismuth-doped fiber amplifiers (BDFAs) offers the potential to transmit high-speed WDM signals over long distances in O-band spectral region, thereby greatly enhancing scope systems utilizing these wavelengths. In this paper, we present a comprehensive experimental study on several basic characteristics an BDFA based phosphosilicate optical fiber, including frequency-dependent noise figure, gain tilt (static and dynamic), transient response, polarization dependent gain. We discuss our findings their implications use technology high bit-rate multichannel systems.

Bismuth-doped Silica Fiber Amplifier

To accommodate rapidly increasing quantities of information and communication, optical fiber transmission technology with high-speed high-capacity is demanded. The development of an optical gain medium and fiber amplifiers to cover the 1250~1650 nm region, which is the entire optical telecommunication windows of silica fiber, becomes an important issue for ultra-wide broadband optical communica...

A 23-dB bismuth-doped optical fiber amplifier for a 1700-nm band

It is now almost twenty-five years since the first Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) was demonstrated. Currently, the EDFA is one of the most important elements widely used in different kinds of fiber-optic communication systems. However, driven by a constantly increasing demand, the network traffic, growing exponentially over decades, will lead to the overload of these systems ("capacity cru...

-Band Bismuth-Doped Fiber Amplier With Double-Pass Conguration

——A Bismuth-doped ber amplier (BDFA) in a double-pass conguration is proposed and demonstrated. The BDFA consists of a Bismuth-doped phosphogermanosilicate (BiPGeSiO2) ber pumped by a Titanium––Sapphire source at 810 nm. The BDFA has an amplied spontaneous emission (ASE) spectrum with a 3-dB bandwidth from 1220 to 1490 nm. The maximum gain of the proposed BDFA is 2.0 dB at an input signal ...

C-band single-longitudinal mode lanthanum co-doped bismuth based erbium doped fiber ring laser.

We propose and demonstrate a stable, tunable and narrow linewidth C-band lanthanum co-doped bismuth based erbium doped fiber (EDF) ring laser with single longitudinal mode (SLM) operation. A free space thin film filter acts as a wavelength discriminative component selecting a few oscillating modes while a Lyot filter formed by a polarization maintaining (PM) fiber and a linear polarizer further...

Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier Review

This paper is describing and investigating four crucial areas of Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA). First is the atomic part, where it is meaningful to give deep and details information of erbium spectra structure and its energy level. The atomic spectrum is one crucial part in defining and understanding amplification phenomena. The second part based on understanding, investigating and analyz...
